According to Diamond, Atomic Robo #3 hits stands tomorrow. If you haven't been reading this book, you're missing out. I've already talked about what I thought of issue #1 and #2, and what I've said there continues on with issue three. Brian Clevinger gives us a solid story, and Scott Wegener gives us some great art; a book packed with action and humor and fun. You could say that it's like Hellboy, but with science instead of mysticism.
This issue picks up from the events of last issue, where Robo had to fend of giant ants from Reno, Nevada. This issue, it's trying to disable an Egyptian Pyramid that has suddenly begun moving, and blasting things with a solar powered deathray.
One thing that did bug me with this issue is the lack of introduction of the Action Scientists. I love the concept, but there is nothing in the book to tell me who they are and what they do. What I'm looking for is a caption next to each person in the meeting room that says "Stuffy McGee - Doctorate in Quantum Physics. Has beaten Megaman 2 without getting hit."
That's not the guy's name, by the way. I had to make that up, because three members of the team are never called by name in the book. These introductions may have happened in the last issue, but I don't remember. They may not have been introduced, and I probably didn't notice because they weren't in the action as much as they are in this book.
Clevinger is far form the only writer guilty of this, as I know this is a trap of "modern" comics but it still bugs me. This gripe notwithstanding, Atomic Robo is a fine book, and you should give it a shot tomorrow when you pick up your comics from your local shop.

This book sounds very cool! I'll probably wait until it's collected though.
